There is no need to force anyone to follow the path of Advaitic Gnana. Only who has an inner urge will follow the path of wisdom.*****

As per the scriptures, the three "Ashrams" or stages in life were originally intended for three grades of intelligence thus:~

Lower intellects: ~Religion had to do 'karmas' works, ritual actions, chanting of mantras and indulging in Bajans and prayers, etc.

Middle intellects: Yoga: taking yellow robes, going to caves, ashrams, etc.

High intellects: Wisdom: who wanted truth are concerned with no external rites or sanyasa.

Sages of truth restrained themselves parting the Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana to the mass and only a selected few.

Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana was hidden from the people who were not qualified and receptive to it. Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana was not written down but was imparted orally to the chosen few. Thus, religion was given to the ignorant populace and the knowledge of the Spirit, God is given only selected few.

Thus, we find traces of knowledge of the spirit in the religious books in the form of parables.

Bhagavad Gita says: ~ Among thousands of men, scarcely one strives for perfection; and of those who strive and succeed, scarcely one knows the ‘Self’ in truth.

The path of wisdom attracts only those who are in search of truth and they appreciate it greatly.   The ignorant are not spiritually matured the receive Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.  The ignorant indulge in argument and provocation and personal attack, which hinder their own realization of the ultimate truth or Brahman.

That is why Jesus said: - Do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you. (Matthew -7:6)

~ Jesus  meant knowledge of Spirit or Knowledge of God or Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana or Advaitic wisdom.

Bhagvad Gita says: ~ “Don't unsettle the minds of ignorant by revealing the esoteric truth."
Katha Upanishad says~ This Atman is attained by him alone whom It chooses. (II -23-P-20)

Thus, those who have taken the path of wisdom are chosen ones.  The chosen one will get the grace of the Soul the inner Guru. The path of wisdom is the Soulcentric path, whereas all other paths are egocentric.  All egocentric paths are leads to hallucination.

The inner Self reveals ‘what is real’ and ‘what is unreal” when the seeker is receptive and ready.

This is your bondage that you are stuck up to religion and Yoga.  religion and yoga teachings are lower knowledge meant for lower stages.

The seeker has to ignore these ‘I’ based teaching and search for higher knowledge. ... Such teachings are unsafe rafts for crossing the ocean of ignorance.  Doomed to shipwreck are those who try to cross the ocean of the ignorance on these poor rafts. Ignorant of their own ignorance, yet wise in their own esteem, these deluded people proud of their vain learning go round and round like the blind led by the blind.

The Soul, the Self is verily Brahman (God), being equanimous, quiescent, and by nature absolute Existence, Knowledge, and Awareness.  The Soul is not the ‘I’ which is non-existence itself.  Realization of this truth is called Self- Knowledge by the Sages of truth.

Remember:~

Sage Sri, Gaudapada says: ~The merciful Veda teaches karma and Upaasana to people of lower and middling intellect, while Jnana is taught to those of higher intellect.

This clearly indicates that religion, which is based on individual conduct, prescribes karma and Upaasana to people of lower and middling intellect, therefore religion is for the lower intellect. And wisdom is for those are capable of inquiring into their own existence to know and realize the ultimate truth, which is Brahman.

As indicated in ISH Upanishads: - By worshiping gods and goddesses you will go after death to the world of gods and goddesses. But will that help you? The time you spend there is wasted because if you were not there you could have spent that time moving forward towards Self-knowledge, which is your goal. In the world of Gods and Goddesses, you cannot do that, and thus you go deeper and deeper into darkness.

It clearly indicates that:-If the human goal is to acquire Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana then why one has to indulge in rituals and glorifying the conceptual gods, goddesses and gurus[which is karma] to go into deeper darkness. Instead spend that time moving forward towards Self-knowledge, which is one’s prime goal.

There is no need to force anyone to follow the path of Advaitic Gnana. Only who has an inner urge will follow the path of wisdom.

The Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sri, Sankara is nothing to do with the religion, caste, rituals, worships, yoga and other practices. Therefore, an obvious disparity between what Sage Sri, Sankara ‘s path of Gnana and path of Karma. Path of Gnana is meant for the advanced seeker of truth and path of Karma is meant for the ignorant populace.
 Remember:
First Mundaka - Chapter 2 (10) - Ignorant fools, regarding sacrifices and humanitarian works as the highest, do not know any higher good. Having enjoyed their reward on the heights of heaven, gained by good works, they still remain in ignorance of the Atman the real God.

As a person one performs rituals throughout his life.  The person who performs rituals and aspires for rewards will view the world in which he exists as a reality. However, the Soul, the Self unborn eternal hidden by the world in which he exists.  From the standpoint of the Soul, the world in which he exists is merely an illusion.

The scriptures dealing with rituals, rewards, etc. are therefore addressed to an ignorant person.

First Mundaka - Chapter 2 (9) ~ Children, immersed in ignorance in various ways, flatter themselves, saying: We have accomplished life's purpose. Because these performers of karma do not know the Truth owing to their attachment, they fall from heaven, misery-stricken, when the fruit of their work is exhausted.

First Mundaka - Chapter 2 (8) ~ Fools, dwelling in darkness, but wise in their own conceit and puffed up with vain scholarship, wander about, being afflicted by many ills, like blind men led by the blind.

Ish Upanishad declares:~ Those people who have neglected the attainment of Self-knowledge and have thus committed suicide 10/11/12

The religious people who have neglected the attainment of Self-knowledge and have thus committed suicide, as it were, are doomed to enter those worlds after death.

This is a condemnation of people who do not try to attain Self-knowledge. They are, in a real sense, committing suicide, for what can be worse than being a slave to sense enjoyment, completely oblivious of the real purpose of life, which is to be one’s own master?

Sage Sri, Sankara says “he who knows the Brahman (God) is one and the ‘Self’ is another does not know Brahman (God).”
Sage Sri, Sankara also asserts that Self is realized when All the effects of ignorance, root, and branch, are burnt down by the fire of Self-  knowledge, which arises from discrimination between these two—the Self and the non-Self.

Sage Sri, Sankara’s Gnanic path can help the seekers draw and prepare them for the journey to the reality hidden by the dualistic illusion or Maya. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
