The invisible and unborn Soul is the Self. The invisible Soul is present in the form of consciousness.
The invisible Soul is Self-evident. It is not established by extraneous proofs. It is not possible to deny the invisible Soul, because it is the very essence of the one who denies it. The invisible Soul is the basis of all kinds of knowledge, presuppositions, and proofs. The invisible Soul is the Self.
The invisible Soul is hidden and the invisble. The invisible Soul is without; the invisible Soul is before, the invisible Soul is behind; the invisible Soul is on the right, the invisible Soul is on the left; the invisible Soul is above, and the invisible Soul is below.
The invisble Soul is not an object, as it is formless, beyond the reach of the eyes. It is not another. It is all-full, infinite, changeless, self-existent, self-delight, self-knowledge. It is the essence. It is the essence of the knower. It is the formless substance and witness of the three states, which comes and goes in succession.
The invisible Soul is impersonal, and without attributes, formless, without special characteristics, immutable, eternal, and non-agent. It is above all needs and desires. It is always the witnessing Subject. It can never become an object as it is beyond the reach of physicality.
The invisible Soul, the Self, is non-dual, one without a second. It has no other besides itself. It is destitute of difference, either external or internal. The invisible Soul, the Self, cannot be described, because description implies distinction.
The invisible Soul cannot be distinguished from any other than itself. In the soul, there is no distinction of substance and attribute.
Non-dual awareness constitutes the very essence of the soul and not just its attributes. The invisible Soul is impersonal. It becomes personal only through its association with the three states or illusion.
The Upanishads say:-
“Neti, Neti — not this, not this, not that.”
This does not mean that consciousness, which is the ultimate truth or Brahman, is a negative concept, or a metaphysical abstraction, or a nonentity, or a void. The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, is the ultimate truth or Brahman.
Consciousness is second to none. Consciousness is not another. Consciousness is all-full, infinite, changeless, Self-existent, Self-delight, Self-knowledge, and Awareness. Consciousness is the essence. Consciousness is the formless knower of all that is known.
Consciousness is the formless Seer and the Seen. Consciousness is a transcendent and formless Witness. Consciousness is impersonal and without attributes, formless, without special characteristics, immutable, eternal, and non-agent. Consciousness is above all needs and desires. It is always the Witnessing Subject. It can never become an object as it is beyond the reach of time and space.
Consciousness is non-dual, one without a second. It has no second thing besides itself. Consciousness is destitute of difference, either external or internal. Consciousness cannot be described because description implies a distinction. Consciousness cannot be distinguished from any other than itself. In consciousness, there is no distinction between substance and attribute. Awareness is the very essence of consciousness and is the ultimate truth or Brahman.
The attributeless consciousness is impersonal and pure. Consciousness becomes a personal or attributed consciousness only through its association with illusion, which appears in the form of mind or the universe, or waking or dream.
Attributed consciousness and attributeless consciousness are not two different consciousnesses. Attributeless consciousness is not the contrast, antithesis, or opposite of attributed consciousness. The same attributeless consciousness appears as attributed consciousness. The mind and the invisible Soul are one in essence. The essence is consciousness. Thus, consciousness is second to none. : :~Santthosh Kumaar
