Self-knowledge
is absolute knowledge but neither the controlling of the senses nor even studying of
the Vedas leads to Self-awareness. In Spirituality, God means the ultimate
truth or Brahman. Self–realization is truth-realization. Truth-realization
is God-realization.
Sage Sankara: ~VC~
If the universe be true, let it then be perceived in the
state of deep sleep also. As it is not at all perceived, it must be unreal and
false like dreams.
That is why Sage Sankara declared: ~ “Brahman
is the truth, the World is Unreal everything is Truly Brahman and nothing else
has any value.
In ignorance there is duality. In
wisdom, there is the only nonduality. The Soul the ‘Self’ is one
without the second. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness (spirit).
It is the same consciousness (Soul) that manifests as the whole universe.
Consciousness itself is the ultimate
truth or Brahman. Consciousness is the ultimate cause of the universe and
it, itself is uncaused. The seeker of truth must convince himself of this truth
by Soulcentric reasoning.
Manduka Upanishads: ~ ‘So-called spiritual
pundits and learned are called children because a child takes whatever it
thinks as truth. The question never occurs to children “Is what I have seen or
thought really the truth?" (P.334 line 9)
Upanishad says: - This Atman cannot be attained by the study of the Vedas, or
by intelligence, nor by much hearing of sacred books. It is attained by him
alone whom It chooses. To such a one Atman reveals Its own form. (Katha Upanishad Ch-II -23-P-20)
Manduka Upanishad: ~ This Atman cannot be attained through the study of the Vedas, nor
through intelligence, nor through much learning. He who chooses Atman—by him
alone is Atman attained. It is Atman that reveals to the seeker Its true
nature. (3 –page-70 Manduka Upanishad Upanishads by Nikilanada)
When the Upanishads say
it is attained by him alone whom It chooses. To such a one
Atman reveals its own form. Then what is the use of indulging in our
intelligence or our accumulated knowledge, when one is not chosen by the Self,
which is the Soul, which is in the form of consciousness?
There is no need for
any philosophy in pursuit of truth because it takes the seeker nearer to the
truth but it creates more doubts and confusion.
The scripture's theories
and teachings based on the ego are not a yardstick. Using them as a yardstick to
understand and assimilate the truth will lead one toward the pursuit of
arguments.
The seeker of truth has to discover on his own, the truth of his true
existence by inquiring “What is the mind?” and “What is the substance of the mind?”
and move forward.
The ultimate truth has
to be realized first without the scriptures then only it is possible to know
what the scriptures are saying. I do not require any scriptures.
I quote scriptural
citation and also the citation of the sages of truth only after verifying
reality and proving the truth, to point out that the scriptures teach the same
thing.
If one quotes them before having demonstrated the truth, then it is
scholasticism. I do not require any scripture or the quotes of any Sages I
quote them only to inspire the seeker to move on.
Self-knowledge cannot
be attained by the study of the scriptures and intellectual understanding or by
bookish knowledge. Therefore, there is no use in studying the scriptures and
other scriptures to acquire Advaitic wisdom.
Scriptures mastery, the
force of religious merit--none of these lead to the realization of that
Ultimate Truth or Brahman.
The ultimate truth is revealed in the clear
understanding and realization of ‘What is the truth? and ‘What is the untruth?
When one realizes the untruth (universe) is created out of a single stuff, Self-awareness rises in the midst of duality exposing the unreal nature of the
form, time, and space.
Scriptures are being
added from time to time. This process will go on. There is the final
authority among them? One contradicts the other: duality reigns supreme.
There is nothing to
realize other than realizing the universe in which we exist is created out of single stuff. That single stuff is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. Consciousness is real and eternal.
First, realize the
‘Self’ is not you but the ‘Self’ is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.
Mentally hold on to the Soul and mentally reduce the world in which
you exist as consciousness by realizing the world in which you exist is nothing
but an illusion created out of consciousness.
All my blogs and
postings are the verified truth. As one goes on reading, all his doubts and
confusion will start clearing. It takes time to be receptive to Self-Knowledge
or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana because it is the Soulcentric knowledge whereas
all accumulated knowledge is egocentric.
I am highlighting all
the obstacles in the inner journey and how to overcome these obstacles. All
accumulated knowledge is of no use in the path of wisdom.
It is for every seeker,
who is on the path of wisdom to realize himself “What is the truth, “and “What
is untruth?” to assimilate the Self –Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
My postings are only signposts. The seeker needs to reflect constantly on the
subject until the cobwebs of his doubts and confusion get cleared.
Self-knowledge will not
arise from the exchange of views opinions and arguments. The accumulated
knowledge is not a yardstick, to realize the truth beyond the form, time, and
space.
Sage Goudpada: ~ To establish the truth of Non-duality by sheer reasoning
alone. He begins by defining "What is real?" "What is
unreal?" etc, because that is the right way to discuss or teach. People
must first know what they are talking about. (Manduka Karika)
The reasoning is
interpretable in two ways. The egocentric interpretation is to apply it only to
the waking experience. The soulcentric interpretation is to apply it to the
three states. The latter leads to the final settlement of the problems because it
takes all data into consideration.: ~Santthosh Kumaar
