The difference between Advaitic wisdom and meditation is that former depends on knowledge of the Soul, the Self whereas the latter depends on the yogi’s own feelings experience.+

The difference between Advaitic wisdom and meditation is that the former depends on knowledge of the Soul, the  Self whereas the latter depends on the yogi’s own feelings experience. Self-knowledge is Soulcentric-knowledge whereas the yogis’ experience is egocentric.

It is only the yogi who is striving to control his mind, who refrains from worldly duties, through fear of being distracted from his yogic Samadhi.

The Soul is the  Self. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness. The whole universe and all its contents are created out of the Soul or consciousness. Thus, there is no second thing that exists other than consciousness. Thus, consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

Once one knows what gold is, it is not necessary for him to see a pot again when the word 'gold' is uttered and its meaning sought. Similarly, once one knows Brahman, its true nature will always be known to him. Everything that one sees will be seen by him as ordinary people, but it will also be known to him in its true nature as Brahman.

Ashtavakra says: ~ “This is your bondage, that you practice Samadhi or meditation.”

The meditation, meditator, and the world in which meditation is performed is an illusion created out of single clay. That single clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. Knowledge of the single stuff is Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana leads to Self-awareness.

In Self-awareness the Soul, the 'Self' remains in its own awareness in the midst of the dualistic illusion. Self-awareness is real meditation. Thus, Self-awareness is real meditation.

Mediation is the nature of the Soul, the Self. Meditation always means a critical analysis of the Self to get rid of ignorance.

Chandogya Upanishad: ~ One who meditates upon and realizes the 'Self' discovers that everything in the cosmos-- energy and space, fire and water, name and form, birth and death, mind and will, word and deed, mantrams and meditation--all come from the Self.

People dip into meditation, but they do not understand that that is only one half of the truth and that this dipping is also a mental discipline for them to understand the true nature of the external universe, which understanding they must next get if they are to become a Gnani.

Remember:~

Meher Baba: ~ ‘Meditation has often been misunderstood as a mechanical process of forcing the mind upon some idea or object.

Meditation will not help you to get rid of ignorance. Without getting rid of ignorance,  Advaitic wisdom will not dawn. Meditation is not a means to find the truth hidden by the form, time, and space.

Without realizing the ‘Self' is not you but the Self is the Soul all the effort used in the meditation leads to hallucination and thoughtlessness. The thoughtlessness is not wisdom. by ending the thoughts you may get peace, not Advaitic wisdom.

Meditation is a progressive step and there is no need to condemn them. Religion and yoga are not the end, for they can never directly lead to Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. All other teachings and practices other than Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana are for beginners only. There are stages in comprehending the truth.

Meditation always means the critical analysis of the Self to get rid of ignorance. Ignorance will not vanish by remaining without thoughts or focusing attention on some object.

Sage Sankara says ~ “The exercise in discrimination between real and unreal and renunciation of the false is real meditation, then why you are indulging in other types of meditation.

Until a man is ripe to receive Self-knowledge, it is fatal to ask him to give up meditation.  The novice seekers must understand that yoga is all right in its place and that it is good at the beginning of the pursuit of truth, but when yoga is made ends in itself and not means to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

Yoga and meditation are not useless, they are useful to bring the restless ego under control and also meditation helps to overcome stress.

Yoga and meditation are not final. Indulging in yoga and meditation, will not lead to the ultimate end of understanding. Yoga cannot remove ignorance. It is only a step. It removes obstructions.

For meditation, one need not sit and chant God's name or concentrate on some object. Anything you do will not be meditation. If there is a doer then it is not meditation. As long as there is doing, there is ignorance.

As long as the doer is present, the ego is present. If the ego is present the whole world is present. If the world is present the duality is present. If the duality is present then there is an illusion. If the illusion is present the birth, life, death, and the world are experienced as reality.

The Atmic path is nothing to do with religion and the yogic path. The Atmic path is the path of wisdom. All your accumulated knowledge is nothing to do with the Atmic path. The Atmic path is not a path of discussion or exchange of views and opinions but the direct realization of the 'Self' hidden by the dualistic illusion.

The seeker must have the patience to open the blogs and posts and read them. It will not only help you to clear all your cobwebs of doubts and confusion.

Without reading the blogs trying to argue on your own yardstick, is not of any use. Whatever you have read, whatever you have heard and accumulated becomes a hindrance in realizing the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.

All your egocentric accumulated cocktail knowledge is not Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana soulcentric knowledge is not available in the spiritual supermarket.

All accumulated knowledge is mental Garbage is no use in the quest for truth. The seeker has to discard all the accumulated knowledge and start afresh.

Reading and reflecting on my blogs and postings gradually, the seekers will start assimilating and realizing ‘what is the truth’ and what the untruth is.

Repeated reading of my blogs and postings makes the seeker Soulcentric and the inner dialogue will start and clear all the doubts and confusion. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
