It is erroneous to believe the general impression is that the universe disappears to a Gnani, that he sees nothing in Samadhi. Only deluded persons will have such an impression?

Nothing is destroyed. Only ignorance disappears and the unreal nature of the universe is exposed. The universe which appears as the waking experience is a dualistic illusion.

A Gnani has the full and firm conviction that the world in which he exists is nothing but the consciousness in the midst of dualistic illusion.

The Soul, the Self, being aware of its true nature in the midst of dualistic illusion is called Self-awareness.

The universe or the waking experience will not disappear. It is there always, but the unreal nature of the waking experience is exposed in the midst of dualistic illusion through Advaitic wisdom.

If one thinks its mere disappearance in the Yogic Samadhi is the ultimate Truth or Brahman, then he would get it in deep sleep. Thus, the yogic Samadhi is not the Advaitic wisdom. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Fools dwelling in darkness, but thinking themselves wise and erudite, go round and round, by various tortuous paths, like the blind led by the blind.+

Katha Upanishad says:~ Fools dwelling in darkness, but thinking themselves wise and erudite, go round and round, by various tortuous paths, like the blind led by the blind. (Ch~ II-5 P-14)

Those who indulge in the perverted argument on their own standpoint and opinion are not seeking the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.  They just want to exhibit their accumulated knowledge accumulated from here and there.  They think what they know is the ultimate truth.

They think whatever they propagate is the ultimate truth. The question never occurs to them, “Is what I know is really the truth?

I just write what is revealed from the inner core. My main intention is to divert the seeker's attention to the source from where the mind (universe) rises and subsides.

Reading and reflecting on my blogs and postings gradually,   the seekers will start assimilating and realizing  'what is the truth' and 'what the untruth' is. 

Repeated reading of my blogs and postings makes the seeker, Soulcentric, and the inner dialogue will start and clear all the doubts and confusion.

When there are no doubts and confusion, then they have realized the truth that form, time, and space are one in essence. And that essence is consciousness. 

There is no use in wasting time in questioning and arguing same time and effort have to be used to make the seeker more independent and without external spoon-feeding he can reach the inner core, which is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

The words mean different things to different people, it is what's behind the words, between the lines that matters. Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is meant for the class not for the mass.:~Santthosh Kumaar

Till one hold the Self as 'I', it is impossible to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. +

People who study  Vedanta are under the delusion and conclude that they declare:~   "I-Am-Brahman",   but they fail to realize the fact that Brahman is everywhere and in everything! 

The existence of Brahman is not limited to his physical identity because it is the very essence of form, time, and space.

Yoga Vasistha:~ "Teachers, interpretations of sacred texts, the force of religious merit--none of these lead to the realization of that Ultimate Truth which is revealed in the clear reflection of the heart, engendered from contact with the good."

Sage Sankara: ~ VC Let erudite scholars quote all the Scripture, let Gods be invoked through sacrifices, let elaborate rituals be performed, let personal Gods be propitiated---yet, without the realization of one‘s identity With the Self, there shall be no liberation for the individual, not even in the lifetimes of a hundred Brahmas put together (verses-6)

Sage Sankara said:~  Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many Gods as you please, observe ceremonies, and sing devotional hymns, but liberation will never come, even after a hundred aeons, without realizing the Oneness.

The ‘I’ is the ignorance. Till one holds the Self 'I', it is impossible to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.  

Thus,   the seeker has to get rid of ignorance, which is present in the form of ‘I’, to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman. :~Santthosh Kumaar

Some Gurus propagate that by becoming laughing Buddha one get Self-realization.+

If you laugh or if you cry the wisdom will not dawn. The one who laughs or cries is the one who is born lives and dies whereas the Soul, the Self is a formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

Some Gurus propagate that by becoming a laughing Buddha one gets Self-realization because if one keeps on laughing he forgets his physical identity but is merely a theory based on the false self within the false experience.

Suppose one keeps laughing within the dream, the dream becomes unreal when Advaitic wisdom dawns. Similarly, if one keeps laughing with the waking experience, the waking becomes unreal when Advaitic wisdom dawns. The Advaitic wisdom dawns when the Soul, wakes up from its sleep of ignorance.

Thus, ignorance will not vanish by laughing but such acts keep the Soul, the Self in the prison of the dualistic illusion.

Perfect understanding and assimilation of ‘what is what’ is needed to cross the leasehold of the dualistic illusion. :~Santthosh Kumaar

People who are stuck with the thought and the thinker theory will not be able to cross the realm of form, time and space.+

People who are stuck with the thought and the thinker theory will not be able to cross the realm of form, time, and space.  It is their accumulated intellectual knowledge that makes them judge, decide, and conclude logically.  

Logic can be applied for practical purposes in practical life but it is no use in the pursuit of truth.  Deeper thinking and understanding are needed in pursuit of truth.

 

Thought is the tool in waking or dream. One needs to think to beyond form, time, and space to unfold the mystery of the mind or the universe.  The thought rises to the physical entity within the waking or dream. 

Without waking or dream the thought will not arise. It is no use in tracking the source of the thought instead traces the source of the mind. The mind is in the form of the universe. And the universe appears as a waking or dream.      

The seeker has to indulge in deeper self-search and verify and realize the fact that, the mind is not within the brain, but man and his experience of the universe are within the mind, he will not be able to cross the threshold of duality.  

Seeker also has to realize and come to a firm conviction after verifying all the facts that-- the mind is in the form of the whole universe and the universe appears as a whole waking or dream.   

Only when one gets a firm conviction of ‘what is what’,   and then only it is possible to unfold the mystery of the mind or the universe. 

Remember:~

Thinker, thoughts, and the world in which the thinker exists have nothing to do with the Soul, the Self, which is hidden by ignorance.  

Those who think by ensuring to whom the thoughts come will not be able to realize the ‘Self’ because they are thinking the ‘Self is within their body. The ‘Self’ is not within the body but it is hidden by the dualistic illusion (world). 

Thoughts and thinker and the world the thinker exists belong to the dualistic illusion. Without form, time, and space the thoughts will not form. 

Thoughts come to the thinker. The thinker is an individual whereas the ‘Self is not an individual. 

The source of the thoughts is the ego. Without the ego, the thoughts will not rise. Thoughts and thinker and the world the thinker exists is nothing to do with the Soul, the ‘Self, which is hidden by the dualistic illusion (I). 

You are the thinker.  The thoughts come to you.  You are bound by form, time, and space whereas the Soul the  Self is a formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.  

The thoughts will not rise in the domain of the Soul, the ‘Self’ because it is the ever-formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

The thoughts come to the thinker within the dualistic illusion.  Without the illusion, the thinker, thoughts, and the world in which the thinker exists cease to exist.

Therefore, just by finding out to whom the thoughts come? Who is the knower? it is impossible to realize the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.

Without getting rid of ignorance truth realization or self-realization is impossibility.+

Even though the self is something other than this waking entity (ego), the majority of people still identify themselves with it.

The main reason people identify the Self with the waking entity (ego) is their ignorance of the Soul, the real Self.

Whosoever identifies the Sul, the Self with this bundle of bones and flesh is caught up in the grip of duality.

Now the question arises: If the Self is not this waking entity, then what is that Self?

The real Self is not the waking entity but the formless Soul, which witnesses the waking entity and waking world together.

The scriptures declare that the Self is the soul, the Self. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness or Spirit —the three states are merely a mirage created out of consciousness. That's all.

The three states are temporary, while the Soul, the Self is immortal, Therefore, this waking entity and waking experience are false (impermanent), and the Soul, the Self is True and permanent.

The ultimate goal of human existence is to become re-established in reality of his true existence through Self-realization.

Self-knowledge of Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana makes one realize that form, time and space are one in essence. That essence is the soul or consciousness.

Realizing the essence, which is the soul or consciousness leads one to nondual Self- Awareness. In Atmic-awareness, there is only oneness in the midst of duality.

The essence of scriptures: - Dehum- Nahum-Kohum –Sohum – which indicates the body is not the Self – the Self is that. Which clearly indicates the Self is without the body. Therefore, the self is the formless knower of the body and the world.

Without the body and the world, the Self is free from birth life, and death. Therefore, karma theory, which is based on the idea of birth, life, death, and rebirth, is a mere religious fable

Karma is a universal principle only on the base of a waking entity. the waking entity is the false self (ego], within the illusion (waking).

The cause and effect is a reality, only on the base of the false self. The fact is Atman or the Soul is the Self.

The Soul or Atman is present in the form of consciousness. Atman or Soul is the cause of everything and it, itself is uncaused.

Buddhism says, there is nothing - a nonentity. Advaita says there is some reality, even though things are not what they appear to be.

If one knows the ultimate truth, he will know there is neither cause nor effect.

AdvaitIc wisdom is to know, what is it, that is Real, and base the reasoning on that real.

When reasoning is done on the true base, one has the yardstick to know what is the truth, and what is the untruth, and he will be able to reject the unreal or untruth mentally.

The seeker has to make sure whether the Self is a waking entity(ego) or the Self is the Soul which is present in the form of consciousness.

If one accepts the self as a waking entity, then karma becomes a universal principle.

If one accepts the Soul, as the Self, then the physical body, ego, world, and whatever one has seen, known believed, and experienced as a person becomes unreal, from the standpoint of the Soul, the Self.

By accepting karma theory, one is accepting the unreal as real and permanently remains in the clutches of duality thinking the cycle of birth, life, and death as a reality.

To overcome the illusory experience of the cycle of birth, life, and death, one has to know that form, time, and space are one in essence. That essence is consciousness. Consciousness is real and all else is merely an illusion(universe).

Thus the Self is within the mind (universe) but it is without the mind (universe). Thus the Self is within the ‘I’ but it is without the ‘I’.

Thus karma theory is a hindrance in the path of truth because one accepts the false self as the real Self and false experience as a real experience and he thinks all his actions will yield fruits.

Thus he will remain permanently in the realm of unreality or ignorance.

Without getting rid of ignorance truth realization or self-realization is an impossibility.:~Santthosh Kumaar

I had to be away from the Ashram for nearly two months and when I returned I saw Sri Cohen in a much worse condition and confined to a wheel-chair. His talk was no longer coherent: “See, Ganesan, I am maimed. Yet, the management has suddenly shifted me to a room on the seventh floor and there is no water there. What can I do?” — “They say they have given me an exclusive room for myself, but see, in the night nearly 12 people sleep here, squatting around me.” — “Don’t think there is only one Kannan (servant), there are nine Kannans, all looking alike!”

I cried on seeing his pathetic condition and told Him: “Mr. Cohen! You are the most intelligent sadhak I have met. Why are you talking so incoherently?” He then adjusted himself and squarely looked at my face and said: “When the body becomes old, you lose control over it. And so over the mind also. But you are not the body and you are not the mind! So, don’t give any importance to how the body or the mind behaves. They are not ‘me’.” I was astounded when he said that since just a few minutes back he was talking sheer nonsense! Then, I asked him “If you are not the mind nor the body, who is speaking to me? Who are you? In which state are you, now?”

“I am pure spirit, witnessing what takes place through the body and mind. I have nothing to do with them. I am in the presence of my Master: Guru Ramana, enjoying His benign and blissful presence! I am pure ananda!” As he uttered these words I saw a different Mr. Cohen, the one we had known for years with all his brightness and serenity.

After some time, he again started talking incoherently. It was a great revelation, a clinical laboratory demonstration of the fact ‘I-am-not-the-body-mind’!

While Mr. Cohen thus saw the light in the midst of darkness, Mr. Chadwick saw life in the face of death. Major Chadwick was admitted in the C.M.C. Hospital in Vellore. His tongue had swollen so much that it filled the entire mouth, preventing him from even making noises. The doctors put questions to him and he could not reply. His end was nearing. A few devotees from the Ashram went to Vellore to see him and comfort him. Surprisingly, Sri Chadwick, started speaking to them: “Today is Easter!” he said. When it was pointed out to him that Easter was a few days hence, he clearly answered them, in his usual loud, clear voice: “Yes! I know. But, for me, today is Easter!”

Yes! That was the day of resurrection for this Ramana bhakta. Who spoke those words but the Spirit within?

When Mr. Arthur Osborne was in Bangalore and the end near, he could not speak at all. As a ritual farewell Mrs. Lucia Osborne went round (clock-wise) the prostrate body of her beloved husband. Suddenly, she heard distinctly in her husband’s voice: “Thank you!”. Who spoke those words if not His Self?

Spiritual being beyond name and form, mind and body, is our real nature, affirms Victorious Ramana, Conquerer of Death.
