Religion is a prison of ignorance. People who follow it locked up in ignorance. God in truth is not people believe and worship.+

Religion is a prison of ignorance. People who follow it are locked up in ignorance.  God in truth is not what people believe and worship.   The belief or faith-based is not God in truth.

People who are conditioned by religion will not accept anything other than their accepted truth. Physicalized versions of the scriptures are meant for the people who believe the practical life within the practical world is reality.

God is not physical. God means the ultimate truth or Brahman.  Therefore,   Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana or Christ- Consciousness is

Religion is based on an illusory dualistic foundation. The dualist Gurus start with the presumption that God must have a material to work with, out of which to make the universe.

The seeker of truth must know for his own information, the God in truth is not a religious God, which they believe and worship.  The blind beliefs propagated by the religion of their individualized God are superstition. Such Gods have no place in truth.  There is no need to condemn those who believe and follow.

Until the ignorance, dominates them they will no buzz from their inherited belief. Everyone is free to follow their chosen path, which makes them happy and gives them satisfaction.

The Atmic path is very personal. Without an intense urge, no one can tread this path. It cannot be forced on religious people. Moreover, religious people are not fit to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

It is no use to argue on the base of inherited religious dogmatism. All religion and its theories are a myth and dogmatic.  There is no difference between religious belief and superstition.   Religious belief is superstition and superstition is a religious belief.

Remember:~

Mythological God and Goddesses are based on the belief. The belief is no God. The belief implies duality. From the ultimate standpoint, duality is merely an illusion. Thus, whatever one sees, knows, believes and experiences within the dualistic illusion is bound to be an illusion.

Mythological stories are myths. Whatever is based on myth is merely a superstition.  Mythology was introduced in the past for the ignorant masses. It has to be discarded as one progresses in his spiritual advancement.

Mythology breeds superstition, blind beliefsenseless rituals, and most irrational and gives them a divine outlook.

Bhagavad Gita says: ~Brahmano hi pratisthaham Brahman (God) is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material (Gita 14.27)

When Bhagavad Gita says God is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material then nothing has to be accepted as God other than consciousness.

The seeker has to realize the difference between the religious God and God in truth.

Lord Krishna Says Ch. V:~ Those who know the 'Self'  in truth.". The last two words (tattvataha) are usually ignored by pundits, but they make all the difference between the ordinary concept of God and the truth about God.

Bhagavad Gita Chapter: ~ “All those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires, they worship many Gods. (7- Verse -20)

Swami Vivekananda: ~ The masses in India cry to sixty million Gods, and still die like dogs. Where are these Gods? (In San Francisco, on May 28, 1900, of swami Vivekananda/volume 1)
Religion breeds superstition because religion is based on blind belief. Whatever is based on blind belief is superstition.

God in truth is not a belief. One must know God in truth. Without knowing what God is supposed to be in actuality worshipping  God based on blind belief is superstition.

Worshipping superstitious Gods barred by Vedas. Know what God is supposed to be according to the Vedas Upanishads Bhagvad Gita and Bible.

Yajurveda – chapter- 32:~   God is Supreme Spirit has no ‘Pratima’ (idol) or material shape. God cannot be seen directly by anyone. God pervades all beings and all directions.
Thus, Idolatry does not find any support from the Vedas.

Rig Veda: ~ The Atman (Soul or Spirit) is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman the innermost self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad: ~ Brahman (God in truth) is in the form of the Athma, and it is indeed Athma itself.

Brahman (God) ~ The One Without A Second

The Atman is Self-evident (Svatah-Siddha). It is not established by extraneous proofs. It is not possible to deny the Atman, because It is the very essence of the one who denies It. The Atman is the basis of all kinds of knowledge, presuppositions, and proofs. Self is within, Self is without; Self is before, Self is behind; Self is on the right, Self is on the left; Self is above and Self is below. Brahman is not an object, as it is Adrisya, beyond the reach of the eyes. Hence the Upanishads declare: “Neti Neti—not this, not this....” This does not mean that Brahman is a negative concept, or a metaphysical abstraction, or a nonentity, or a void. It is not another. It is all-full, infinite, changeless, Self-existent, Self-delight, Self-knowledge, and Self-bliss. It is Svarupa, essence. It is the essence of the witness. It is the Seer (Drashta), Transcendent (Turiya), and Silent Witness (Sakshi).

Sage Sankara’s Supreme Brahman is impersonal, Nirguna (without Gunas or attributes), Nirakara (formless), Nirvisesha (without special characteristics), immutable, eternal, and Akarta (non-agent). It is above all needs and desires. It is always the Witnessing Subject. It can never become an object as it is beyond the reach of the senses. Brahman is non-dual, one without a second. It has no other besides it. It is destitute of difference, either external or internal. Brahman cannot be described, because description implies a distinction. Brahman cannot be distinguished from any other than It. In Brahman, there is no distinction between substance and attribute. Sat-Chit-Ananda constitutes the very essence or Svarupa of Brahman, and not just Its attributes. The Nirguna Brahman of Sage  Sankara is impersonal.

 Remember;`

The Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara has nothing to do with religion, caste, rituals, worship, yoga, and other practices. Therefore an obvious disparity between what
Sage Sankara‘s path of Gnana and path of Karma. The path of Gnana is meant for the advanced seeker of truth and the path of Karma is meant for the ignorant populace.
So many centuries have passed since Sage  Sankara appeared, yet it is very hard to find his true wisdom understood anywhere in the world today because so few could rise to his level. Hence, the dualist Sages and others came to supply the common demand.

Sage  Sankara gave religious, ritual, or dogmatic instruction to the populace but Advaitic wisdom only to the few who could rise to it. Hence, the interpretation of his writings by commentators is often confusing because they mix up the two viewpoints. Thus, they may assert that ritual is a means of realizing Brahman, which is absurd.

The mantra-yoga consisting of repeating the name of God, or even the AUM; thousands of times yields nothing. It can appeal only to the ignorant, to those who cannot think deeper. It is a mere religious fable. The real exercise is to think of the meaning of the name or the AUM and then only do you get something.

Mantras can do nothing. If they really had any power why did not Krishna use one to stop the Mahabharata war? All the magical power of mantras is a religious fable because religion is based on the false self (ego) and false experience(universe) Visions and Samadhi are illusions from the standpoint of the Soul, the Self.

That is why Sage Sankara: ~ VC- 63. Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the ‘Self’ how is one to achieve Liberation by the mere utterance of the word Brahman? — It would result merely in an effort of speech.

In the context of Advaita Vedanta: ~ Jagat (the world) is not different from Brahman; however, Brahman is different from Jagat.

It has not been possible to preach Advaitic Truth entirely free from the settings of dualistic weakness, it has not been more operative and useful to mankind at large because only a few will be able to grasp and realize it.

'To realize the Advaitic Truth a freer and fuller scope the seeker has to realize the form, time and space are one in essence. And that essence is consciousness. And the Soul, the Self is present in the form of consciousness.

To realize the Advaitic truth the seeker has to be free from all superstitions and orthodox contaminations. The seeker has to dedicate himself to acquiring Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana alone. : ~Santthosh Kumaar
